Description

This document describe the basic settings of setting up Linphone (Softphone) to connect to Offisky Device Account using the phone build-in web configuration panel. Linphone is a open source, free download, SIP base, multi-platform, video and audio Softphone. For more information, please visit Linphone official website at linphone.org.


Setup Linphone SIP Phone (Video):





To setup Linphone (Basic Settings):

  1. This document assume you are setup up the soft phone from scratch.

  2. Visit linphone.org and download the latest soft phone version for your platform.

  3. Install the downloaded Linphone into your computer.

    • During installation, when prompt for installation component, plesae include "Cisco OpenH264 codec" if you wish to setup video call in this extension (make sure your device account also support video call).


  4. Once the installation is finished, launch (start) Linphone.

  5. In the Linphone welcome screen, select "USE A SIP ACCOUNT" button

  6. Open a browser and login to your master account.

  7. Open the Phone Device Setup Information screen, as described in this document.

  8. Copy Offisky Username to Linphone Username

  9. Copy Offisky Registrar Server to Linphone SIP Domain

  10. Copy Offisky Password to Linphone Password

  11. Copy Offisky Nick Name to Linphone Display name

  12. Linphone: "Transport", select UDP.

  13. Linphone: Click on the "USE" button to conform.

  14. Linphone: On your upper left hand corner, click and select your Offisky registration, then click "OK".

  15. Offisky Panel: Select "Status" tab. If the registration is successful, you will see the device has been registered.




Recommended Settings:

  1. The following settings are recommended to setup within Linphone to ensure it is compatible with the Offisky network.

  2. In Linphone upper right hand corner, select the "Menu" icon.

  3. Select "Preferences".

  4. At the top tabs, select "Audio".

  5. Scroll down to the "Audio Codec" list, and disable all codecs except the codecs available in your device account (ie. G711 ulaw, G711 alaw, G729).

  6. At the top tabs, select "Video" (Only use for Video extensions).

  7. Scroll down to the "Video Codecs" list, and only enable H264 codec.

  8. At the top tabs, select "Network" (Only do this if you experience bad video / audio quality).

  9. Under "Bandwidth Control" section, provide the internet bandwidth available for Linphone.

  10. Now, click on "OK" at the lower right hand corner to save your settings.
