Description

This document describe the basic settings of setting up a Mitel / Aastra phone to connect to Offisky Device Account using the phone build-in web configuration panel. Although each models may comes with a different configuration layout, the idea behind the setup is very similar.


Setup Mitel (Aastra) 6730i IP Phone (Video):









To setup a Mitel / Aastra phone:

  1. This document assume you are setup up the phone from scratch. If you need to reset the phone to factory default, please refer to your phone user manual.

  2. Open the Phone Device Setup Information screen, as described in this document.

  3. Connect your phone to your network, and wait until the phone successfully boot-up.

  4. Get the IP Address of the phone from the phone Main Menu > Phone Status.

  5. Use a computer which is located under the same network of your phone, open your favorite web browser, and type in the IP Address in the URL.

  6. When it prompt for username / password, enter the credentials for the phone (default: username: admin, password: 22222), which will enter into the phone main screen "System Information".


  7. In the left hand side menu, select: "Global SIP"

  8. Screen Name: Provide the name you wish to display on the phone screen (Recommended using the Device Setup Info: "Account / Nick Name").

  9. Screen Name 2: Provide the name you wish to display on the phone screen (Optional).

  10. Phone Number: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Username"

  11. Caller ID: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Username"

  12. Authentication Name: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Username"

  13. Password: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Password"

  14. Proxy Server: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Proxy Server"

  15. Proxy Port: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Proxy Port"

  16. Backup Proxy Server: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Backup Proxy Server"

  17. Backup Proxy Port: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Backup Proxy Port"

  18. Outbound Proxy Server: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Outbound Proxy Server"

  19. Outbound Proxy Port: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Outbound Proxy Port"

  20. Registrar Server: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Registrar Server"

  21. Registrar Port: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Registrar Port"

  22. Backup Registrar Server: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Backup Registrar Server"

  23. Backup Registrar Port: Copy the Device Setup Info: "Backup Registrar Port"

  24. Under Codec Preference List, Codec 1: Select "Basic".

  25. Leave the rest of the information as default and click on "Save Settings" button.


  26. In the left hand side menu, select: "Preference"

  27. Auto-Answer: Check this box to "Enabled" if you wish to use Offisky phone panel click to dial / answer feature (Optional).

  28. Microphone Mute: Un-Check this box to "Disabled" if you wish to use Offisky phone panel click to dial / answer feature (Optional).

  29. Play Warning Tone: Check this box to "Enabled" if you wish to use Offisky phone panel click to dial / answer feature (Optional).

  30. Allow Barge In: Un-Check this box to "Disabled" if you wish to use Offisky phone panel click to dial / answer feature (Optional).

  31. NTP Time Servers: Check this box to "Enabled" to use internet time server.

  32. Time Server 1: Set this value to "pool.ntp.org" (or set the local time server at your preference).

  33. Leave the rest of the information as default and click on "Save Settings" button.


  34. In the left hand side menu, select: "Reset"

  35. Restart Phone: Click on "Restart" button, and wait for the phone to restart.

  36. Now, go to the "Phone Device Account" and look for the device account you have just setup, if the phone is registered successfully (Green light), meaning the phone has been successfully connected. Otherwise, check out the previous configuration to ensure the information is provided correctly.

  37. Please note: It may take 1 to 2 minutes after your phone completely boot up to register to the Offisky Network.
